    I’ve been reading Owen Barfield‘s recently republished philosophical novella Unancestral Voice (, ). Like many of his books, its aim is to make the esotericism of Rudolf Steiner more digestible to a 20th century audience. Barfield begins by setting the late industrial scene ~, situating us within the toxic detritus of a decaying civilization we have by come to know all too well. Owen Barfield was for many years a practicing solicitor in London and a regular contributor to such journals as The New Statesman and The London Mercury. He is the author of highly original and stimulating books, including Worlds Apart, Unancestral Voice, and Romanticism Comes of : Owen Barfield.
